Sasha Banks did the unthinkable July 25 and snatched the WWE Women’s Championship right out from under Charlotte! These two have been going at it so long that the match on ‘Monday Night Raw’ made the internet explode over the epic win. Keep reading for some of the amazing reactions.
Wrestling fans are calling 24-year-old Sasha Banks win over Charlotte, 31, one of the greatest matches in recent history, and even the victor couldn’t believe she finally had the belt, with her first three words upon winning were an excited, “I did it!” The crowd went wild and gave her a standing ovation for her hard-won victory. She dropped to her knees at one point, completely overcome with emotion as she stared down at her new championship belt. She told the crowd, “This has been my dream since I was 10-years-old. I told everyone that I am the best, and now this proves that I am the best,” she said, gesturing to the belt.
Charlotte was the second pick in the draft for Monday Night Raw and Sasha went just a few picks later, so they would naturally end up in the ring. Charlotte really pushed Sasha during the first few minutes of the match, as even after she had Sasha on the ground outside the ring she brought out her championship belt and taunted her by saying, “You don’t deserve this. This is mine!” But that just motivated Sasha more, as with a swift kick, she knocked the belt out of her hand and left Charlotte totally fazed. Charlotte came at her again with more trash talk, saying “You’ll never beat me,” and immediately Sasha got her in a choke hold where she was forced to tap out, making the magenta-haired one the new WWE Women’s Champion!
