Justin Bieber, 22, was offered $5 million to play a 45-minute set at a venue near the Quicken Loans Arena as part of the 2016 Republican National Convention, sources tell TMZ. Justin’s people were told by an RNC promoter that this performance would be “not political” and that Biebs would not be endorsing Donald Trump, 70, or any GOP policies.

And he turned it down! Justin’s manager, Scooter Braun, 35, is reportedly a big Hillary Clinton, 68, supporter. He (along with Justin’s talent agency, CAA) had issues with Justin rocking Cleveland, according to TMZ, as they saw this proposed event as being “100% political.” Scooter reportedly tried to talk Justin into displaying a Black Lives Matter banner if he took up the RNC’s offer, but the Republicans nixed that idea. They also said no disses on Donald or the GOP allowed.

The RNC promoter supposedly tried to calm Scooter down by telling him that LeBron James, 31, was also going to attend the RNC, welcoming Republicans to his hometown without endorsing Donald. However, that didn’t turn out to be true. Justin’s peeps reportedly got in touch with the LeBron’s management and they said that King James wasn’t even going to be in Cleveland for the RNC! They reportedly sided with Scooter and urged Justin not to go. Ultimately, the Biebs listened and refused what would have been his biggest single payday in his career.

It might have been for the best for the American voters. The $5 million dollar fee would have been bankrolled by GOP donors, according to TMZ, and Justin would have been paid “up front,” meaning he’d have the cash even before stepping foot in Cleveland. Well, since Justin is Canadian, it’s good he decided to stay out of American politics. We’re glad he dodged a bullet there.
