Michelle Obama‘s highly-anticipated speech on the opening night of the 2016 Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia really struck a chord with viewers as she addressed the crowd, encouraging them to vote in the upcoming election, while drawing on her own experience. The first lady always looks stylish, appropriate and chic and she knew all eyes would be on her when she took the stage, so she selected an outfit that spoke volumes as she endorsed Hillary Clinton.

Michelle’s appearance was a highlight on the first night of the convention and her Christian Siriano dress was an excellent choice for the role. The short-sleeved ensemble in bold, cobalt blue was commanding on FLOTUS. The silk crepe ensemble featured a flattering A-line silhouette — a custom-made creation that was modeled after a frock from Christian’s Pre-Fall 2016 collection. “It is an incredible honor to have such an amazing woman wear one of my creations. I am in absolute awe,” Siriano said of the opportunity.
