The Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, was one of the high profile guests who made it to the Owerri edition of Globacom’s Slide ‘n’ Bounce concert on Saturday night. The music show which has been going round major Nigerian cities in the last few months berthed at the Imo International conference Centre, Owerri, attracting the august presence of the governor.

Okorocha arrived the hall to spontaneous applause as the audience was savouring the performance of Glo Brand Ambassador, Korede Bello. The governor excited the guests by taking time out to have some “selfies” against the Glo backdrop with attendees of the show.

Korede Bello’s performance which included ‘Adaobi’ and his much loved song ‘God Win’ was preceded by Ego’s performance, who rendered some of the songs she is famous for. Other high profile performers at the show included MI, Wizkid and PSquare, who sent the audience wild with excitement, reeling out some of the best known hits.

Mr. Chukwudi Ofoh, CEO, Ibari Ogwa Entertainment World, one of the biggest relaxation centres in Imo State, submitted that in all his years in showbiz, ”this is the first time ever that I have seen all these big artistes performing in a single show and at no cost to anybody. Only Globacom could have brought them for the people of Owerri to enjoy.”

The presence of one of the nation’s best female disc jockeys, DJ Lambo, in the music box excited the audience and she was magnificent throughout. The anchor man, 2Can- Talk, complemented Lambo’s outing with rib-cracking jokes, which he delivered with a perfect blend of English and Igbo languages. Commenting on the show, the Deputy Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ugonna Ozurigbo, said that Globacom had scored yet another high point by bringing worldclass artistes such as Ego, Korede Bello, MI, Wizkid and PSquare to perform in a single show free of charge.
