Banks, schools and shops in Ile-Ife, Osun State were on Monday closed for the coronation of Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi as the Ooni of Ife. The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the closure was to allow more people to attend the occasion. Governor Rauf Aregbesola presented the staff of office to the Ooni at the ceremony. Dignitaries, including traditional rulers from different states and in the Diaspora, were in Ile-Ife to witness the event. Advertisement Among those who attended the ceremony were state governors, former governors and other top politicians. Cultural groups from Osun and other states were also on ground to entertain the guests. Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps, the police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, soldiers and operatives of the Department of State Services were also around to secure the venue.
