The Court of Appeal sitting in Ilorin, Kwara state capital has upheld the election Bukola Saraki, the president of the Senate, as the lawmaker representing Kwara central senatorial district. The Senate president took to social media to share the news of his victory.
“Delighted to hear Court of Appeal upheld my election as Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District.Thank you for all your support & prayers. Rest assured that I’m committed to making sure the 8th Senate is people oriented,” he wrote.
A petition had been filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the election, Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq. In October, the election petition tribunal sitting in Ilorin affirmed the March 28 election of Senator Saraki as the lawmaker representing Kwara central senatorial district.
