Selena Gomez, 24, looks beautiful in the September issue of VOGUE magazine, where the songstress posed on a beach in a striped shirt, looking so effortless and chic, for the issue, which was captured by photog Angelo Pennetta. Inside, the face of Louis Vuitton opened up about her relationship with the industry. “I wasn’t always the [designers’] top choice,” she told the mag. It’s hard to remember a time before Sels wasn’t in major demand, but luckily the star found a place with Nicholas Ghesquière, the creative director for Louis Vuitton, who said he was “immediately intrigued by her spontaneity and curiosity.”
As for her own sense of style, she said: “I like to find things that are unconventional and make them look classic,” she told the mag, adding, “because if I’m forcing something, you can just tell.” Her stylist, Kate Young, added: “Vuitton especially can be tricky—it’s futuristic; it has straps all over it. But Selena’s version looks young and cool and less conceptual. She makes fashion suit her demeanor.”
