The Nigerian Army has regrettably confirmed the death of Colonel Samaila Inusa, He was kidnapped by unidentifiable persons on Saturday at about 7:30pm, it's so sadden  yesterday that his body was  found dead and already decomposing.


The terse statement read, “The Nigerian Army wishes to regrettably inform the public that Colonel Samaila Inusa who was kidnapped on Sunday, 27th March, 2016, was found dead today at about 6pm.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that, most likely, the late senior officer was killed same day he was kidnapped by his abductors. This is because the body was found already decomposing around Ajyaita village, off Eastern Bypass, Kaduna, Kaduna State.”

It further disclosed that necessary arrangements where in progress to move the body of the late colonel to 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, Kaduna.

Meanwhile, the Army has vowed to uncover those behind the crime and make them pay for it.

“We wish to state, in unmistakeable terms, that whoever is behind his abduction and murder would be fished out to face the full wrath of the law,” it said.

Abduction of prominent persons, mostly for pecuniary purposes, have become a trend in the society of late; however, the abductors of the late Colonel Inusa did not demand or wait for any ransom. His decomposing remains suggested that he may have been killed on the same day he was kidnapped.

It is expected that a full autopsy would be carried on the remains of the late colonel at the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital to determine how the deceased died.

Then Lieutenant Colonel Samaila Inusa was the Commander, 81 Battalion located in Bulabulin, Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State. He was later promoted to the rank of Colonel in December 2015 and transferred to Armed Forces and Command Staff College, Jaji, where he was serving until his abduction on Sunday.
