Mrs Dee's Corner -Obeying A Loved Ones Dying Wish

Is there any force binding between a dying loved one's wish and the promise of the family members? are there repercussions when those promises are reneged?  I've heard of a father insisting his children must not marry from a particular tribe and in the case of his death, the children married from that tribe and the marriage hit the rocks sooner than expected.
