Yesterday, July 31st marked the end of the first season of The Voice Nigeria. A’rese, who was a part of Team Waje, emerged last night as the winner. She took the crown with a powerful rendition of Halleluyah by Jeff Buckley as her final song.

A’rese, 28, has been gifted with a deal with Universal Records, an SUV, a Dubai holiday and 7 million naira. She wowed voters week after week with her unique voice and music style.

The finale of the first season of The Voice Nigeria packed a punch with the judges, Timi Dakolo, Waje, Patoranking and 2Baba performing alongside the Top 2 contestants in their respective teams.
