Woman Who Rejected Blood Transfusion Dies After Child Birth

A Nigerian woman who rejecting blood transfusion because her religious doctrine is against it has died after child birth. A former schoolmate of her's shared the sad news on Facebook.. WOW.....What happens if at the point of emergency one decides to go against their Doctrine?Would anything Major happen?..I am just confused and shattered reading this.....
